Round table, C-shaped table or storage ottoman?

By Nook & Form editorial research · October 10, 2026. Original planning guidance based on published product dimensions; not hands-on testing.

Choose the main job first

A sofa-side surface, a shared central table and concealed blanket storage solve different problems. Pick the job you use daily before comparing styles. All three can be appropriate in a small living room, but they occupy and use that room differently.

Two round surfaces

The VASAGLE set provides two circular tops: 19.7 and 15.7 inches in diameter. Separating them can serve two seats. Placing them together does not create one continuous rectangular surface; measure the arrangement you actually intend to use.

One surface beside a seat

The C-shaped VASAGLE model is 26 inches high. Compare that height with your sofa arm and check the base against the sofa clearance. A shape intended to sit near a sofa is not proof that it will slide beneath your particular sofa.

Concealed storage

The reviewed MAZIE ottoman has a 43-by-15-inch base. That is about 4.48 square feet before any circulation space. Its lid must be cleared and removed to access the contents. That can be useful for occasional blanket storage and inconvenient for things you retrieve several times a day.

Test the routine without buying

Mark the outer footprints with tape or paper. Place a temporary surface at the intended height and rehearse walking past, sitting down and reaching for an object. This checks your layout; it is not a performance test of the product. Verify assembly and use instructions separately.
